Description
This workshop led by City Coati looks at how we might meet without a trace, and communicate with each other without capture. Drawing on anti-capitalist, anti-fascist, climate justice and migrant solidarity movement organising experience, participants will explore scenarios, strategies and tactics for evading surveillance, or being “illegible”. Artificial intelligence, live facial recognition, police surveillance databases, smartphones – populations are constantly legible to the state and corporate actors who are interested in their movements. Being visible means being profitable. Being intelligible feeds intelligence industries. How can people access safety and privacy under these conditions? How could unmediated intimacy be experienced in one of the most surveilled cities in the world?
If you require additional access measures to enable your participation, including BSL interpretation please email info@healingjusticeldn.org. Inline with our commitment to disability justice, we will try to accommodate as much as possible.
